Protecting the Public


The Association of Public Analysts (also known as the APA) is the professional body for the highly-skilled scientists who make up the front line of the UK's public protection service, where chemical analysis and related tests are needed. The Public Analyst works to ensure the health and safety of the public in relation to food standards, environmental matters and consumer protection.

Princess Royal Visits Glasgow Scientific Services

Princess Royal at GSS3The Princess Royal visited Glasgow Scientific Services, one of the largest local authority public analyst laboratories in the United Kingdom, on Friday 7th November 2008.

The Princess Royal took the opportunity to meet the staff and witness the huge variety of work that a busy public analyst laboratory deals with on a daily basis.

President Meets Chair of FSA Board

New Public Analyst takes up post with Worcestershire Scientific Services
